Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder treason and plot! It’s that time of year again, the one where the night sky is lit up in remembrance of Guy Fawkes’ Gunpowder Plot. We’ve scoured the country for the best free firework displays to make sure your evening goes off with a bang!
1. Manchester: Platt Fields Park (05/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station Mauldeth Road
Platt Fields Park is one of Manchester’s major outdoor event sites, and this Bonfire Night it’s putting on a spectacular show. With a funfair running from 5-9.30pm and a bonfire beginning at 7.30pm with fireworks to follow, this event is sure to provide fun for all the family.
2. Shoreham : Shoreham Beach Green (07/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station Shoreham-by-Sea
Shoreham’s Bonfire Society is putting on what appears to be another spectacular bonfire event. Beginning the event with a Samba Procession and face painting from 6.00pm, you can guarantee this event is one not to be missed. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and fireworks will start at 7.15pm, finishing with a performance from the Shoreham Allstars afterwards.
3. London: Southwark Park (05/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station London Waterloo
Head down to Southwark Park from 5pm (last entry 6.30pm) on Bonfire Night for an evening of food, drink, entertainment and of course, fantastic fireworks. The event is child friendly and the funfair is open until 8.30pm
4. Lewisham: Blackheath Fireworks (07/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station Lewisham
Beginning with a funfair at 12pm and serving food from 5pm this event is the biggest firework show in the South East. With plenty to keep you busy until the 8pm firework display, it’s the perfect way to spend a November Saturday.
5. Oldham: Oldham Edge (05/11/2015)
Promising a Big Bang Bonfire that’s out of this world, journey to Oldham Edge from 5pm and enjoy the funfair and food before the show starts at 6pm. The theme for the event this year is ‘Out of this World’ which will be reflected across the entire stage show, acts, displays and fireworks.
6. Poole: Poole Quay (05/11/2015)
This event is organised by Poole Tourism and is the finale to the town’s spectacular ‘Summertime in the South’ programme. The party begins at 5pm with a whole host of family friendly entertainment, such as hula hoop and circus skills workshops, and the fireworks will begin at 8pm.
7. Norwich: Norwich Castle (06/11/2015)
Get ready for a spectacular firework show from the annual display at Norwich Castle. Head down for 7.30pm and watch as the sky is set alight with an explosive firework show against the beautiful Norwich Castle backdrop
8. Surrey: Brockham Bonfire (07/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station Betchworth
At 6.15pm a procession will leave the Village Green beginning the activities for the evening. The bonfire will be lit of 7.45pm and the fireworks will start at 8.15pm, but the activities don’t end there. Following the spectacular firework show don’t forget to take part in the Pig Auction at 8.45pm.
9. Guilford: Stoke Park (05/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station London Road
Get yourself down to Stoke Park in Guilford for a Firework Fiesta, including a Torchlight Procession. The fireworks begin at 8.30pm after the Torchlight Procession, which begins at 7.45pm and starts at Tunsgate Arch.
10. Liverpool: Sparks in the Parks (05/11/2015)
Nearest Train Station Liverpool Lime Street
Choose between two different Liverpool locations for their Sparks in the Parks events this Bonfire Night. Both Sefton and Newsham parks will be synchronised to start at 7.30pm and the inspiring shows will be paying tribute to the armed forces.
